New: Top of the Mountain Biker Summit in Ischgl

Ischgl is hurtling its way into the motorcycling season by inviting all makes of bikes to the Alps’ highest biker meet from 6 to 9 August 2015 at 2,300 metres altitude. It will be a weekend full of motorbikes, guided tours and parties.

Racing along the passes up the mountains. From 6 to 9 August 2015, Ischgl will turn into a paradise of motorcycling. The new Top of the Mountain Biker Summit will see guided tours, including of the legendary Silvretta High Alpine Road, taking bikers into turns with some real grip – on the most spectacular routes for motorbikes in Austria and Switzerland. Short ladies tours will allow the women to find their own rhythm going into the bends. Registration can be done at the High-Bike Testcenter.

Events up to 2,320 metres altitude
The first Top of the Mountain Biker Summit will start on Thursday with a roadside alcohol-free welcome drink for all those arriving on the Silvretta High Alpine Road. On Friday there are free guided day tours scheduled for those eager to clock up the miles in the stunning mountains. Registration can be done on Thursday at the information counter. On Saturday, participants will travel together in a motorcycle convoy on a spectacular journey through the many twists and turns in Paznaun up to the Idalp at 2,320 metres altitude. At the Top of the Mountain Coffee Break this unique moment – of the highest bikers meet in the Alps – will be captured with a photo together on the summit. There will be opportunities for testing, admiring and trying out bikes over the whole weekend – as KTM, BMW, Ducati and Triumph motorbikes can be rented out for a small fee, by the hour, at the High-Bike Testcenter Paznaun. KTM is also providing Freeride Elektro Bikes to try out on the off-road course in the Action Area. Dieter Rudolf, the KTM freeride stunt driver, will excite the crowd with jumps and stunts on his electric motorbike. Stunt pro Julien Welsch will also show off his best drifts and moves on his petrol-powered race machine. There will also be DJs and various bands to entertain the bikers. The legendary weekend will be rounded off on Sunday 9 August with a morning drink for bikers and a motorbike blessing.  

Hitting the roads with the latest bikes
You can keep your own bike in the garage for the Top of the Mountain Biker Summit, should you want, as the latest models can be rented out by the hour from the High Bike Testcenter Paznaun as part of the highest motorbike summit. Around 50 motorbikes are on offer from leading manufacturers BMW, Ducati, KTM and Triumph. The Alps’ only multi-brand motorbike test centre is open up to and including 30 September 2015.
